Kim Bum-Soo, (金范秀). South Korean R&B and soul singer (see also K-pop) famous for his smooth vocals and emotive ballads. Particularly, he is noted for the song 보고싶다 (bo go ship da), the title of which means 'I miss you' in English. This song became the theme song of Korean drama 천국의 계단 (Stairway to Heaven).

Kim Bum Soo is the first Korean artist to make a mark on the North American music charts, with his song 'Hello Goodbye Hello' ranked as the 51st spot on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 2001.

Custom-made acetate frames with twisted hinges!

This collection is actually a continuation of previous series with the characteristic block hinge. Our designers decided to play with this functional detail and created two new versions of the hinge – one twisted diagonallly, and one in the shape of a diamond!

The hinge is now encapsulated in the acetate and now fits the rest of the frame seamlessly.
At first sight the masculine frames have a very classic look, with vintage shapes in dark shades. But then you notice the vibrant, colorful inside of the frames with the layered acetate designed especially for this collection.

The dark colors of the female frames have been milled away at the edges of the temples to present a look that is still exciting by letting the underlying acetate colors play a more prominent role.

VANNI’s Exclusive Acetate Line, Stratos.

THE Stratos line that won the “Grand Prix Eyewear of the Year 2009” in Tokyo, wears fancy dress for 2011-12 based on pulsing Jamaican ska.

Stratos is all-acetate formed by stratifying different colours and thicknesses. Frames are fashioned out of strips of multicolour acetate combined with plain-coloured plastic, or single-colour patterns going with Havana brown and bright, bright colours, both shiny and matt.

The colour and texture combinations are exclusive VANNI style centre creations. The acetate block strips here take on an original pattern - pearly one-colour squares, a ska rhythm applied to eyewear. Colours never too bold, easy to wear, some striking shapes, and gloss or matt finishes.

The VANNI prescription glass collection liaises with “Icons of Italy”, the Italian design firm who have been applying Italian city skylines to sundry objects of home, fashion and stationery. The towns so far represented are Turin and Milan, a tribute that will soon extend to other centres.

Onto the exclusive VANNI acetate multilayers, the skylines are screen-printed in colours to suggest a nocturnal townscape, resulting in a serious yet highly personal accessory. Fronts are in sombre shades - black, purple, havana with contrasting bright colours on the inside.
