A sweet retro flair
Vintage and retro themes continue to dominate fashion. Whether the Fifties, Sixties, Seventies or Eighties, they're all there for the taking. The You'S eyewear collection sports round, cat-eye and square lens shapes in a modern interpretation of femininity. In a nutshell: yesterday's styles combined with today's looks. Luxurious materials and warm winter colours like burgundy, aubergine and rust are combined to give a chic look.
Some You'S models have got a strong Eighties vibe to them, offering neon colours and trendy motifs typical of that period. We're looking forward to a bold fashion autumn!
Revival of the butterfly
Amongst the wide range of retro frames on offer this year, butterfly shaped glasses really stand out. Though the 'cat-eye' shape can be more pronounced in the one model than in the next, the influence of the Fifties - feminine and elegant - is unmistakeable. Some say they're just stuffy old glasses for secretaries, but in combination with the right clothes, they can be really chic. The success of the butterfly glasses is attributable first and foremost to their upward sweep, giving wearers that positive look. Or in other words, old-fashioned glamour never looked so fresh!
You'll find a number of different frames in this style in the You'S autumn collection. You'S also has modern versions of them, representing a cross between cat-eye and wayfarer (models 835, 859A, 854, 857). The temples gain a luxurious look through decorations ranging from bright diamonds to polka dot motifs, all giving wearers that instant diva look!
Colour your life!
Compared with this summer, colours are more subdued, though they continue to play a prominent role this autumn/winter season. The You'S designers have proposed lively colours to give warmth in the cold season! Earthy tones dominate, combined with prints and bright colours. Elegant sea green and emerald green play an important role, with scarlet grape, red and cobalt blue injecting some colourful drama. Burgundy is the perfect shade between bright and earthy colours and our designers have used this colour in many frames, giving wearers a touch of warmth and glamour.
The standard winter colours are now having to compete against several other timeless favourites: matt black is topping the charts, and metallic shades promise to give your looks a dose of class. Brown is to be found everywhere this season, combined with green, mustard-yellow, red or orange shades.
Print galore! The winter season catwalks were full of bright colours and animal motifs, with an enormous variety on offer. Patchwork and small prints are the key trends. Why not mix different elements to gain dazzling optical illusions - fashion's version of recycling! Just mix and match! (models 839, 844, 845, 857B, 858, 860, 862 & 863).
The fashion world is also bringing polka dots back in again. A playful trend which the You's designers can't afford to ignore. Polka dots are available in a number of different You'S frames, in both round and oval motifs and in many variations (models 841, 843, 851, 857A, 859, 835A, 856).
This autumn, You'S is also following the trend towards animal prints, offering snakeskins in such unnatural colours as emerald green and red (model 863).
Back to nature
Autumn is also a season when we become more aware of nature. In line with the "green" trend, soft, delicate forms and shades are to be found, focused on not distracting attention away from your face. Frames with thin no-nonsense contours are fully in line with this trend (models 842, 861).
Keep it simple! This also applies to the use of colours - soft shades such as grey, chocolate, tobacco, olive green and bronze fit in perfectly with this "down-to-earth' trend.
Wood is also a very interesting take on the eco-trend and earth oriented designs. It has a natural appearance in the use of colour, which creates a total look in neutral tones and in tones on tones. The You’S acetate collection perfectly fits with this trend (models 846, 849, 850, 854, 855 and 856). They look stylish and neutral, but they're just that little bit different.
